New Edirol R09...Kodak 2GB SD card???
« on: October 24, 2007, 03:06:13 PM »
Hi all...I recently got back into taping and went with the R09 and I'm very happy with the unit. I just noticed that a local store has Kodak 2GB SD cards for $29 and was wondering if anyone has used them with the R09 and what the results are like. Thanks!

Spend the extra money and get at least a 4 GB card.

I agree

Really?

I suppose it depends on what you are recording. BTW: I think he was asking technically if it works OK (the Kodak card).

2 Gig is well over 3 hours of recording...I use a 2 Gig card (with a 1 gig backup) and never get anywhere near filling 2.

at 24/48, 2 GB is less than 2 hours and that means you wouldn't have the option of 24/48 for many shows.

Oh yeah I'm definitely getting a larger card but these are the only ones I can find in town and they're cheaper than usual, so I was just wondering if they would work fine for the time being so I could get some longer recordings/tests done :)

Not trying to be smart, but the environment of a rock concert hardly justifies 24 bit 48 kHz recording does it?

Unless you are using the 24 bit for headroom protection and then maximising the sample post production?
