Are these things just phantom power?  I am thinking about buying some AKG 391s and been listening to a few shows.  One of them being:http://www.archive.org/audio/etree-details-db.php?id=5366

Just curious if they are changing the sound much as a UA-5 might or if I am getting a better good idea how the mics really sound.

B18 is just phantom power.
word of caution on the B18...their design is rather flimsy.
if your preamp is not supplying phantom power, grab a PS2!

I have a UA-5.  Just trying to figure out how much/if any coloration it was adding to the source I have.  Thanks for the quick answer.
