Greenone and other LMA volunteers please take a look...
« on: January 22, 2008, 12:13:25 AM »
... for anyone not Dave, who already knows the score, I'm unable to upload to the LMA due to a "timed out" error.  I've disabled the screen and power savers, etc, so the computer itself shouldn't be causing the problem.  See the "failure" screen shots I've posted below.

Other info:
Macbook running OS X
Cyberduck for ftp (recently updated version)
All items meet naming convention standards, AFAIK
Running Network Diagnostics reveals everything working as it should

Any info on how/why I can't upload this would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Dean

Did cyberduck ever work for you and you were able to upload a complete show to LMA? I never was able to get it to work right for LMA but it worked fine for SPPS and others. I had to switch to Transmit and never had any more problems again,
Peace

This was the first time I tried Cyberduck to upload to LMA.  I'm obviously less than pleased with it.  (Never did have a problem with it for anything else, e.g., tapers.org, personal ftp stuff, etc.)  I finally got the upload done by simply checking out where it timed out, and starting over with whatever flac track didn't make it.  I've still got it checked out but will complete it after work tonight and check it in.

So, for any of you LMAers checking this out, no worries at this point - we'll see how it goes once I complete the check in.  But, if you know anything about Cyberduck uploads, let me know.

Is Transmit free to use?  I'm cheap.   :)

Cyberduck did the same for me and always timed out that is why I switched to Transmit but like you mentioned it only timed out for LMA. Transmit is not free but is easy to find S# if you look around.

Transmit isn't free but it's one of the few applications I've actually ever paid for (Sound Studio and Audio Hijack being the others that come to mind). A license is $30. Technically, you can keep reusing it after the trial period by continually trashing the preferences file, but you'll lose your favorites that way. :)

Still, like Jim said, I'd try using another FTP client to see if that works, just to rule it out as a cause of your problems.
