Sony 50 D strange for playback
« on: January 22, 2008, 12:36:30 PM »
Hi i just burned in my new Sony for about 5 days nonstop Record or Play, now its sounding more open and fine. Even the internal Mics gained a bit. They are on light side.

My problem is listening music not recorded on the machine.
Every track ends with "File Damaged" in the display. And they are 2 files of the same name difference is "_"  bevore the track number.
Did Sony tested only on WIN machines? Format did not help,  copyed to internal memory and the .wav files played with no issues on other machines like Microtrack 24/96 or my Mac G5, Edirol R4.
What the bleep ist this?
And I whised it could play like an Ipod Track after Track but no "press play"  a Zillion times.
Because Playback over SPDIF without spinniging CD, many Servos and Motors with no constant RPM in the Signal Path must sound suberb.

Made a big Powersupply with 2 Sonnschein Lead Acid 6Volt  3 AH in parallel,  with 20 Rubycon Z 470uF uf  caps. BUMM!

It's the Mac adding invisible files that it uses to preserve information about the files (the resoure fork) of use to the Mac OS but ignored by others.  It names the files starting with ._ which means they are invisible from the Mac Finder, but other file systems don't know to ignore them.

If you want to get rid of those files, you can maybe manually delete them on the D50, or tell your Mac to show invisible files and delete them off the D50 while it's attached to your computer.  You can actually see and delete the files in the terminal, or you can tell the Finder to show invisible files like so:
