I wish I would have seen that yesterday.

I bought the Sabra ST4 mount with the intention of fixing 2 of the mounts to the bar permenantly via expoxy.  These would be in the perfect position to run LD's vertically.  With the other two mounts I would leave them as is on the inside for horizontal mounting SD's near-conincident.

The Sabra is cheaper and comes with 4 mounts, but this looks more sturdy and you could use the mounts for any configuration...

I don't know anything about the mics but I just wanted to say that I love the icon/avaitar thing!

Are the shockmounts included with the bar?

Blumlein - Stereo Adaptor Bar      (shown with FAT HEAD II'S, not included)

Model: B-SAB

Includes padded pouch

Doesn't say anything about the shock mounts not being included.  Only that the microphones are not included.

I've been thinking about buying another fathead and that bar along with it...
I just haven't come up with a good excuse to explain it to my wife.

Why the epoxy?  Are you figuring that will be stronger than just tightening the screw in the mount?

I'm pretty sure the shock mounts come with the microphones, not the bar.

yep, I am afraid that the weight of the LD's will cause that screw to come loose or something.  My LD's should be in my hands in a few days and i'll see how it goes.  Ideally I would just use the set screws without any expoxy...

Given the friction fit nature of the Sabra shocks - I can't really see vertical LDs happening...the sabras are too springy...SDs will float...And you can go LD - but only with the mic sitting in the mount - I dont think the mount would hold the mic if you inverted it...(assuiming thats how you have to set up for vertical)

I am not using Sabra Shocks.  I am using the Sabra ST4 bar with AT isolation mounts....   I am not worried about the mic falling from the shock mount, I am worried about the 5/8" adapter mount on the bar slidding off....

I haven't done this, but I expect it would work great.  Set it up, tighten the screw, it should make a good mark.  Take a good sized drill bit and drill into the bar just a little... enough to create a good sized dimple... then it will stay.
