JB3 question...couldnt find w/a search or in the FAQ
« on: July 31, 2008, 09:39:12 AM »
i cannot pull 1 certain file off of the jb3.

it gets to 26% every time, and comes up with "access is denied (file name goes here)"

ive tried the clean up feature, to no avail.

any ideas?

thanks in advance!

Are you sure the file is intact, ie does it play completely if you listen to it?

Have you tried transferring it with different software? If you normally use Nomad Explorer have you tried  using Creative's Play Center, Red Chair's software, Notmad Explorer, or Sveta from dbPoweramp? If you have access to a linux box, try gnomad - it's the best software I've used with the JB3.

This question has been posed before here: http://taperssection.com/index.php/topic,105216.0.html

There is no report back from the person with the problem after I linked to this thread:

Good luck.

Assuming you've already tried "Clean Up" in Rescue Mode?

If that doesnt do it - maybe try to record something else - just few minutes to make another file - and then try it. (more of an experiment there)

+t to all

ive tried other software to move the file.
ive tried playing back to no avail.
ive tried clean up in rescue mode.
ive tried removing every file but the one im after.
ive tried adding a file (it works), and still couldnt pull if off.

so i am going to try the old "bad hard drive" trick.  i am freezing my jb3 for an hour in a ziplock bag (to help prevent moisture), and them im going to try and pull the file off.

if not, i may very well smash it against the wall. (not really)
