The fabric store is a goldmine.
Not only can you find remnants of the material you are speaking of, but they also carry that faux fur which makes such wonderful dead rat covers...

Typical product is "reticular foam" in quarter or eighth inch sheets, used for speakers and some windscreens.  It is an open cell foam which really looks like dead coral skeletons, very porous, but cutting wind and letting in sound.  It is what I line my stealth hat in.

Hello i,ve run FOB schoeps, and we have used a black t shirt
or some  black silk fabric from walfarts, might even find some thin black fabRic in the ween section of walfarts, tapes came out fine,,good luck...PPP

To answer the first question - if you don't use windscreens, yes the fabric rubbing on the capsule will be picked up.
