???
I just push the studs up and screw them into the mount
finalizing the position before the final turn of tightening.

Yep.

This sure doesn't work with my bar and mounts.  It simply never tightens and because the studs aren't threaded all the way to the knob, it simply goes up until there are no more threads and the stud are then free and loose.  I guess I'll try the rubber washer.

Oh, I see.  That sucks.  Def try washer or if you can get a metal ring, that should do the trick as well...

I will give it a try because I have some washers in the garage, but there are not a lot of threads on the stud for either a washer or a locking nut.
If you have a problem relating to the Live Music Archive (http://www.archive.org/details/etree) please send an e-mail to us admins at LMA(AT)archive(DOT)org or post in the LMA thread here and we'll get on it.

^^
Dean - latchlakemusic is the same company that makes the $1,000.00 mic stand that Cliff is now using at 10KLF.  Small world it seems.

 ;D

I know that stand!  It comes with 40 bungies representing every different size, color and design known to exist.  :)

Yeah, the stud threads are really narrow. Of course, after Brian posted that link I realized that my Shure vert bar has those same threaded washers, so I'll have to try those. Kind of afraid of googling "jam nuts" though. :P
