Both of you seem to favor the NT2a/ NT2000 solution against the at4022, because of flexibility (EDIT: for the price of a NT2000 I could get a AT4022 omni and a AT4021 cardioid?!). My initial problem with the NT2a/NT2000 is how to possibly suspend it from a boom with some sort of wind protection. The boom's weight should not be a problem because, it can be placed on a light stand most of the time.
PS.: my budget for the mic + wind protection is very tight, about $ 800 (1k max.).
