I have a currently unused DPA 4098 supercardioid (looks like 4061 with tiny vents on the back side and a 2" long interference tube grid on it, which I plan to try in place of the 4061 in the center brim position.  May try it with a standard 406x grid on it in place of the interference tube.

My four omni LRCB rig was typically worn body baffled with the 4060s in boundary mounts, resulting in a cardioid sensitivity pattern oriented in each direction at mid and high frequencies.  Hat mounting provides far less spacing and baffling, so my thinking is that substitution of the directional 4098 in the center position under the brim may be helpful.

Anybody used their PR2 at a Yondr equipped show? Curious if they'll want me to put it in a bag, or if it'll even set off the scanners

I walked mine through standard detectors and the batteries set it off so now I keep them separate.
Through the “3D ones”(forget what they are called) no issue so far
Never heard of Yondr

DPA 4061 > PR 2 rig, fully contained in hat.

..which becomes a four channel rig when used in combination with the sunglasses rig.

I've had the sunglasses /croakies rig operational for the past year and a half or so. Effective, but I've missed using my preferred 4 channel LRCB recording configuration I was using previously via 4ch-CA-Ugly > Dr2d.  So built a another 4061 > PR2 rig into the hat to run the center and back channels.  4061 mounted under brim in front and at arch in back over adjustment band. PR2 and wiring is coiled inside the trucker cap forehead space. Clean gaffer taping contains and conceals. Nicely self contained and unnoticeable during a quick doff /don of the hat.  L/R mic pair on sunglasses worn normally with recorder carried in pocket.  May revise to house both recorders in hat if there is sufficient space and it doesn't get overly heavy.

The two recorders are sync'd and controlled via phone app.
damn nice
We have places here that make you take your hat off though so I always set up once inside and this would get caught

Ended up going through a standard walkthrough, but it was on the table with the rest of my stuff and barely got a passing glance

Don't worry about it.  You aren't doing anything illegal when you record a show.

However, on the outside chance you're asked about two AA batteries, just say they were in your pocket from earlier in the day, or carry along a small flashlight for safety (dark venue during the show and late-night walk back to your car after the show) and say that the batteries are for the flashlight.

I keep a pencil flashlight that holds 2 AA batteries in it when I'm organized. Took a while to find one where the batteries can be removed quickly and easily, too. You can put it in the bin or walk through and use it as an excuse for beeping.
once again, lost in all the noise

Also the level display needs be fixed to show dbFS.
^
My number one request correctable via firmware is choice of FS or VU metering.
Displaying metering while playing back should be easy to accommodate as well.
After playing with it today I just realized the v2.1 fw has switched the meter to dbFS! ;D I did some tests connecting to my M-Audio USB audio interface's headphone out and playing sound fro Reaper's tone generator (sine) and it matched to the set generated dbFS value, so the -10dB on the screen is actually -10dB! Hooray! :guitarist:

sorry, I am dumb.
So the meter issue is fixed in 2.1??
Everyone just told me to peak at -10 because it wasn’t accurate for our needs. Are you saying now if I go to-5 it’s actually -5 and essentially as long as I am under 0 I am not clipping?

I would still prob try and keep it at around -10 just for headroom and steal thing doesn’t allow to check levels as easy consistently
