Oade 7 Pin - Active ? Passive ?
« on: September 23, 2004, 02:54:33 PM »
I bought this on or around 1997. I cant which "model" I bought an "active" versus "passive" as I dont think back then there was an option. (ie D8 was just coming out and M1 in the works)

I found out the hard way when I couldnt pass a signal to an M1 ..... and got thrown to the end of a SCI SBD feed a few years back.

looking to sell this with my D7 and want to make sure I list the for sale items correctly.

thanks in advance.

dan:

if I recall correctly, the active cable has a "digital/analog" switch on it, while the passive does not.

I also recall that the old-style active 7 pins had a black head and would not work with m1/d100s, while the newer ones have a grey head and do.

darrin, thanks for the reply. I guess it is "old school" (great movie by the way) because I bought it a few years back and there is no A/D switch. So I guess it is a "passive" one.
