the scenario I outlined will involve an extra step, but the one issue with computer transfers (especially with an older pc) is that you need to leave the computer alone while the transfer is underway (to avoid dropped samples), my suggestion would take that issue out of the equation. Also, setting up the pc to work properly with a soundcard can take a bit of extra effort (not at all hard if you're comfortable configuring a pc). The jb3>computer interface is pretty much idiotproof.
Few more things, keep in mind that jb3s are no longer made and their availablilty is waning. Also, the jb3 serves as a nice portable music player.
Finally, another option is tracking down and installing a dds computer drive that supports dat audio. Search the archives for more info. Believe it or not, this would be the CHEAPEST solution by a long shot.
