I have been recording with my MT since it came out and have all of the updated firmware v1.2.3 installed in it. Has anyone else been experiencing difficulty in being able to listen to files that they recorded in their entirety? I am able to listen to approximately the first sixty seconds in playback and then the audio goes silent. I am assuming there is something to do with the playback audio buffer size. I can listen to the file cokmpletely upon trasnferring it to my pc and playing it from my hard drive. The quality of the files are great as I have been using the Core-Sound Mic 2496 Mic preamplifier a/d converter with a pair of DPA 4061 microphones. I am amazed how accurately the sound is reproduced using these microphones when recording at 24 bit 44.1 on this rig. I am using 44.1 so that I will not have any issues with converting to 16 bit to place certain files on CD's if needed. Also am looking forward to trying 24/96 recording when that is available as I am presently going in coaxial cable for spdif.
I haven't seen this problem either but with 3 others chiming in that they have I have little doubt that it really happens.
So it looks like you're recording using the 1/4" inputs with it set to 44.1/24 bits.
What brand/type/capacity or media are you using?
How long of a recording is it? Does it happen on just about any length recording?
If you just reboot the Microtrack does it have the playback problem does it have the problem only if you've just completed the recording and try to play it back?
When the audio stops playing, does the time counter keep going on the Microtrack or does it stop too?
With this info maybe we can find out what situation triggers the problem.
BTW, Regarding 24/96 S/PDIF, give it a try. I've have no recording issues with the latest firmware (1.2.3). It pops for me once on playback but the actual recording is ok.
