glade scented oil candle holder.

   awesome

I asked because there are a lot of people who swear by them on the forums and I see them in a lot of pictures on agon.  Someone recommended trying with ceramic cups to see if they made a difference so I tried when I had the MH750s.  I didn't hear anything different but I kind of like the looks of those lifters that look like old phone power line insulators.

I've never heard the Avalons but they sure look nice.

yeah that's awesome

they do look nice. I don't have any place or need for them but that's a great little trick to remember

Rok - I think it's about elimination of vibrations and that's why you see the low racks etc. There are other ways to limit vibration without using GC stands so do what works best for you
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia

I would think they might help w/the elimination of static charge...., and dog hair (in my case).

but honestly now, I can't hear shit as my system is rattling the windows.

I actually have seen pics of suspended systems.

But what happens when you touch it?  Maybe you have isolation but you can so easily introduce motion.

Vibration damping elastomer cables tuned to golden-ratio proportions suspending mu-metal platforms hung from cryogenically treated precious metal I beams?

Seriously, why don't we ever see platforms suspended on cables from the ceiling joists in high-end systems?  Seems like ultimate vibration isolation, suspended at grown person height.

Yes, but what do you HEAR?

NO TOUCHING!

Remote only. Plus no fingerprints if you don't have the linen gloves on.

I was netsurfin' a couple days ago and read up on some uber DIY geek dude who built his own Seaway.  Ironically it appears a big challenge for him was devising a non-spilling drink holder.  He ended up with a spar sticking out the front which supported a pendulum-ish hanging cup holder by three lines and reports that it swings wildly in all directions but never spills a drop - In fact the liquid barley moves in the cup.

Just moved into a new place and the basement is mine. I'll be adding another couch and getting my collection out on display but right now I'm just happy to have a room that I can setup however I want. And yes, the bricks around the fireplace need to be painted :P

excellent!

i cant get over how alike that amp of yours is to the jolida 302 - i think they use all the same tubes...

i recognize the furutech, as well...

oh, and nice lookin' turntable :D

funny - i spent alot of effort getting RID of the paint that the previous owner slapped on the bricks of my fireplace; granted, there is a mantle here, and the bricks dont run all the way up the wall, but think about it before you paint - 'cos it is a pain in the a$$ removing that sh*t...

congrats on the new setup - looks like it is time to buy some new software (lp's, cd's, d/l's) so you can kick and enjoy - there are few things i enjoy more than diggin' the tuneage in my own pad...

(i really have to get to work on my garage  :P)

Thanks Marc. yeah I don't know what to do about the fireplace. If I was a Texas Longhorns fan it might be tolerable :P

Tim are you saying that brick is burnt orange (if so I need to adjust my monitor) or a set of longhorns would look good mounted on the brick?

set of longhorns?  how about the whole starting offensive line?
